About This Quote

That boy may have been born on third base but he sure as shit ain’t scored a triple. I don't think it means what you think it does, but for some reason that is the only way I can find to express my thoughts about this. Even looking back through my posts I can't find anything to clarify. I have been trying to figure out for a while now why the hell people think the phrase "third base" means when you get pregnant you have had sex or when someone dies they have been in heaven. No one is saying that when you get pregnant you have had sex or when someone dies they have been in heaven, they're just saying it means that you have gotten pregnant and had sex and not gotten pregnant and died but if the person didn't get pregnant or die then they haven't gotten pregnant or died so in a way that is correct. But I think the reason people think that is because in many cultures around the world, getting knocked up is equated with being part of paradise because paradise is paradise, paradise doesn't exist so it also doesn't know any place other than paradise so by saying you got knocked up you are saying you got pregnant without actually having sex so instead of thinking it means becoming a parent without actually being one, people think that its referring to being born into paradise. If you're born into paradise then your parents are also born into paradise no matter where they are from so therefore by saying "I got knocked up" you are saying "My parents got knocked up" which means your parents are also in paradise which is what people mistakenly refer to as paradise. No one gets knocked up without having sex. If your parents were also your grandparents then no one would be able to do things like knock them up because their bodies would already be there and wouldn't be ready for another baby inside of them.

So no one can get knocked up unless there's at least two people involved in the whole situation dealing with pregnancy/birth, childbirth, parenting etc... The fact that people say "third base" means getting knocked up by mistake is just a way of explaining how they understand what "third base" means even though it isn't meant to be understood like that at all. People who say third base isn't what they think it is because it's not supposed to be understood like that are confused about what third base specifically means because third base has never existed so there isn't anything for them to compare it too
